A year in moments #9 – the story based on a poem

He laid awake, looking to his left. The light was just starting to peek through the curtains. She was facing away from him, sleeping. He watched her shoulder and the curve of her back, just exposed by the covers.

She gently turned over to him, her eyelids giving away that she wasn’t yet awake. He watched her face; her beauty. He watched her breathe, the sun now streaming in and bathing her in light.

Laying still listening to the rise and fall of her chest, he breathed quietly and smiled. He waited for her to move, to touch him. To kiss him.

Her eyes opened.

He smiled.

I love running, writing, travel and adventure. I'll give anything a go once, and am always up for a laugh.
