One week down in the new job. A pretty long week; the usual getting-set-up, reading-all-the-policies and trying-to-get-your-head-around-things as well as two days in Wellington meeting all the team from across the country.
It’s been a good week though. A REALLY good week. Everything is so professional, my workmates are fab, and seem to work really well together. I’m genuinely excited to be there and to be part of the team, and I feel really welcomed and valued.
Aren’t jobs funny though? I was thinking about that this week. You get thrown together with all these people to (generally) have to work together to create or achieve something. All individual people with different lives, backgrounds, values and personalities.
Every time you start a new job you increase your circle and meet so many more people. It’s so exciting; all these new characters with stories to tell.
Who knows how each one will affect your life, and what impact they will have. I forgot how much I love meeting new people.
I’m back to dancing in the bathroom in the morning and feeling pretty damn good.
